This plugin saves time by automatically creating WordPress galleries using custom categories. Use for your large media libraries without editing posts. . Great for photographers and online art galleries. Simply add and remove images from categories and forget about it.
Instead of having to constantly update your gallery code in posts, the Automatic Media Galleries plugin generates WordPress galleries by taking advantage of custom categories.
You can generate virtual galleries on the fly or you can use our very simple shortcode. Simply add the category slug or id.

Although the plugin comes with optional built in categories & tags and an optional built in bulk editor, we recommend the use of other Media plugins like Media Library Assistant and Enhanced Media Library. The plugin should also work with plugins that replace native WordPress galleries, like Simplest Galleries. If you have an issue integrating this plugin, let us know.

This plugin generates virtual gallery pages or posts for all media taxonomies without the need to attach them and helps you to bulk edit all of your media library taxonomies at once.
INSTALLATION
How to install this plugin
Method 1: Install this plugin using the built-in plugin installer: Go to Plugins > Add New. Under Search, type “Automatic Media Galleries” Click Install Now. A popup window will ask you to confirm your wish to install the Plugin. Click Proceed to continue with the installation. The resulting installation screen will list the installation as successful or note any problems during the install. If successful, click Activate Plugin to activate it, or Return to Plugin Installer for further actions.
Method 2: Download the plugin.
In the WordPress admin panel, click on Plugins. Select Add New to get to the “Install Plugins” page. Click on browse and choose the downloaded file.
Click on the “Install Now” button to install the plugin. Once the plugin is installed, select “Activate Plugin”. Method 3: (Advanced Users): Unzip the file. Using FTP, upload the guest-author-name folder to the contents/plugins folder in your WordPress directory.
Configuration
Using the Plugin
To add new Categories & Tags, go to the dashboard, click on Media,and select Categories or Tags. You may then add or edit Categories & Tags.
To add categories to a media file, select an item in listmode from the media library, choose categories and tags and click on the Update button.
If viewing media from the grid mode, click on Edit more detailsin the bottom right hand corner of the screen to access the edit screen.
You can add categories to media files as a bulk action by selecting the media items you wish to edit, selecting Edit Taxonomies Terms and clicking on apply
This plugin comes with an editor that allows you to edit all of the terms that have been applied to media library. For the purposes of this plugin, only select the photo categories and photo tags that you want to apply to all of the selected items and click on “Update”.
Important: Do not click on checkboxes to “Remove all terms” unless you know what you are doing. This option will remove all checked terms from the selected items.
Adding Photo Categories to Menus
Photo Categories and Tags can be displayed on the Menu screen via the Screen Options at the top of the screen.
You can then add Photo Categories and Tags to your menus as usual.
